There were 2 of these cormorants in Brisbane Botanical Gardens. I've never seen any with such strange eyes before.

Oh yes, I'm not sure what species this is, but the double crested cormorants where I live frequently have brilliant emerald green eyes. So pretty. :)

I've been given a field guide to the birds of Australia recently (best present ever!) and it says that it's a Little Black Cormorant. The book says it fishes co-cooperatively with Aussie Pelicans and files in a V formation :D I didn't know that before!
